Internet Marketing is a technique that refers to the marketing efforts which are used to increase the number of customers and sales to your online business using internet, email or any other online medium.
So to grow your online business Internet marketing is required, and you must have a good plan to go with in order to make more profit out of your efforts.
Most of the people online fail to grow their online business because they don’t know much about internet marketing, and even if they do, they don’t know the best strategies to put into work.
I have been doing online marketing for my business for a few years now, and I would like to share 10 internet marketing strategies based on my personal experience.
1. Search Engine Optimization [SEO]
More than 80% people on the internet use search engines to make purchase decisions. They mostly consider the websites which rank on the first page in the SERPs.
Therefore, make sure to get the top rankings in search engines especially in the Google by running a profitable SEO campaign.
Though we are not here to discuss SEO in detail, here are the basic steps to follow:
On page SEO: It includes mainly keyword research, URL optimization, image optimization, content optimization, writing Meta tags, improving site speed, manage broken links and Internal linking.

2. Pay Per Click [PPC]
PPC is my favourite and the most targeted advertising form. Within an hour, you can launch your ads using Google Adwords.
By using Google Adwords, you can show your ads on the Google search pages. Targeting is so customizable that you can show your ads only to the people who may be interested in your product or services. Adwords offers you conversion tracking tool that you can use to figure out which keywords are exactly making sales. You can further optimize your ads by keeping an eye over the day to day conversions.
3. Email Marketing
Email marketing has been one of the best and proven formulas to get most sales and leads for your business.
The first thing, you need to do is to build a targeted email list and then send emails to them whenever you have some offers, discounts or anything special. 4. Affiliate Marketing
I have been managing blogs and signed up to many affiliate programs to make sales for them, and earn some commission. When I first got introduced to this concept, I just thought Wow! What an idea these online businesses are putting up?
No matter in what niche you blog or market, there are tons of third party products that pay you to promote it. Affiliate marketing is a very important internet marketing strategy to grow your income manifold. The top paying affiliate programs for SEO bloggers are that of Wpengine, studiopress etc. Similarly, every niche has companies that pay internet marketers to promote their business. Content Marketing includes creating content on your own blog, guest blog, publishing on various publishing sites, like LinkedIn pulse and on other online sites wherever publishing is worth.

6. Tracking Analytics
Advertising blindly without knowing the results and other stats can be the waste of time and money. Suppose after spending $1000 on an advertising campaign you are able to find out that 30% of the total traffic you got, made sales and rest 70% was waste. It’s nice that you are able to get the idea, but the important thing is that you need to figure out which 30% were good and which 70% hits were bad.

Now, this is true for offline projects and doesn’t apply for online projects since we have of resources and tools to measure which half on advertising is wasted. 7. Offer Freebies
Everyone loves Freebies so offering some kind of tools, content resources, learning materials will be a great step in your internet marketing campaign. You will be able to build user base on your website by offering such free materials.
Suppose you are selling travel accessories on your website, and you have detailed posts on travel tips and ideas, then people will engage more on your website. Gradually the trust builds up, and then if they need something to buy they won’t go to another store rather buy from you. Similarly, Brian Dean shares useful and insightful case studies on his site. Social media marketing is a new thing in the internet marketing. It offers you connect with the people who are discussing the products and services you offer. You may present yourself and your business in front of those people.
It is becoming the best ways to get in front of thousands of people.
Social media marketing is a game well understood and played by big companies and firms, but it is high time for small businesses and bloggers to start planning their social media game plan.
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and stumble upon are few of the great social websites where you can network with like-minded people as well as get customers for your business.
9. Video Marketing
Nowadays, people love to spend time getting information from visual content rather than reading the boring text content. With a video, you can show the product demonstration in more effective way.
If you ask me, I love watching tutorial videos rather than reading the text based tutorials.
You can also use video marketing to give users a review of a product, or a product description. Your readers would also be happy to see how you use videos to show them a strategy instead of just text blog posts. This is the sole reason webinars have found immense popularity in the internet marketing space these days.
10. Launch New products upgrades
To be up to date with customers’ requirement, launching new products upgrades is one of the best things you can do as the marketing strategy.
If you keeping up only with the old products, you will notice that gradually your customers start losing interest in your product. That is the reason it’s important to create new products, and launching them to keep your customers interested in you.
For example, even bigger companies like Apple use this strategy to bring upgraded versions of their best selling smart phones.
One of the main reasons, you should include product upgrades in your strategy is that it will make your product feel relevant and fresh in the eyes if the buyer and hence more sales. This will also give you a chance to remove any useless or buggy part in the upcoming iterations.
